Why isn't my number showing on Google?
Paste your Google Business Profile link and we'll read your public profile, rank the likely reasons your phone number or call button is hidden, and show you exactly how to fix each one.
Quick answer
A phone number usually stops showing on a Google Business Profile because the edit is still under review, the number is already used on another listing, it is a VOIP or virtual number, or the profile is unverified, suspended or has a keyword-stuffed name. Fix the real cause first, then ask Google to review the number — appealing before fixing it almost always fails.
Every reason a Google number gets hidden
Google never tells you which rule was applied. These are all the known causes — the checker above ranks them for your specific profile.
The number is still under review
Every phone edit goes into Google's review queue. Until it is approved, the number simply doesn't appear. Editing it again resets the wait.
The same number is on another listing
Google blocks a number that is already published on a different Business Profile — very common with duplicate or old listings.
VOIP, virtual or call-tracking number
Google prefers a real line tied to the business. Virtual and tracking numbers are often quietly rejected.
The profile is unverified, suspended or restricted
An unverified or suspended profile loses its actions — including the call button. Sometimes the whole Google account is restricted.
Keyword-stuffed business name
Extra keywords or a city in the name break Google's naming rules and push the profile into a quality review, which suppresses the call button.
The number doesn't match your website
Google cross-checks your number against your website and directories. When they disagree, it trusts the number less.
Wrong format or a toll-free number
Indian mobiles must be 10 digits starting 6–9 with +91. Toll-free (1800/1860) numbers are often not accepted as the primary number.
The profile is marked closed
A temporarily or permanently closed listing hides its contact actions — sometimes this status is set by mistake.
You're seeing a cached view
Owners often see an old version on their own device while customers already see the number. Always check in incognito or on another phone.
